First of all, I would like to congratulate you and the camp comm team for organising such a successful camp. It is definitely a “Happiness Guarantee and Value for Memory” holiday camp.
SM was one of the trainees who enjoyed the “Two days One Night Holiday Resort” with “Fully Guided Tour.” He got to listen to his favourite songs all day long, ate his favourite food, including a bowl of noodles snatched from Serene. He could even “smell” the cake 10 metres away while Jianyun brought it out from the kitchen for our AGM members.
I have to salute to the parents of volunteers and Patricia for preparing the “Chinese meet India” cuisine. I am sure all the trainees and volunteers, including myself, enjoyed the food to the fullest. For information, I went for the second round.
WL enjoyed the “Hand and Leg Spa” service provided by our “Senior Therapist”, Fanhan. I am sure he would want the service every week if it is available. He was carrying the “Heart” crafted by him and told everyone he met that it was for his mother. I was touched by his action.
“Night tour” was fun! With a group of six volunteers and four trainees walked under the improvised poncho in a well organised manner which is as good as our SAF army night movement.
The campfire and disco night proved to be a success! WL got into the mood of Disco and kept on shaking his legs. SP and KY joined in the “YMCA” dance with the volunteers. BL gave a loud cheering once in a while. CK started swinging both hands in the air when the title “We are the world” was on-air. Tim and Des gave their most satisfying smile. CK even “invited” Tim for a dance the next morning.
JB reached the destination (pool) eventually with the creative idea by Affiq, Daniel and our fellow volunteers by putting a chair in front of him while he walks. I am sure this is a great achievement for him as well as for our fellow volunteers.
Feeding medicine to BP has to be very creative too. With Choon Seng, Patricia and Serene setting up a “Help Line” with Boon Peng’s father, they finally completed their mission.
Tim finally tried out the waterslides with the encouragement and guidance from Zhuting. Daniel and the team provided a Bathing Spa Service at the end of the swim. Bathing BP was challenging! With one did the shampooing and scrubbing, one did the showering and another one did the drying process, this proved to be a fast and efficient service. With the team excellent bathing service, they should be nominated for the best “Bathing Service Award.”
The two days resort ended with a prize presentation to all the trainees. They not only got to bring back their personalised photos and art pieces painted by them, most importantly, they brought back happiness and sweet memories. I am sure this apply to all our fellow volunteers too as I am still enjoying the “Good Feelings and Sweet Memories” till this moment.
Looking forward to the next camp in June!
